About Kai

Kai serves as the co-chair of the International Wearable Computing Academic Research Community, also a Steering Committee Member of the International Augmented Humans Conference. Previously, held an Assistant Professorship working for Prof. Koichi Kise at Osaka Prefecture University, Japan (2011 -2013). Work experience includes research visits at MIT (Cambridge, US), at the Palo Alto Research Center (Palo Alto, US) and, Sunlabs Europe (Grenoble, France).

Kai loves hacking and playing with technology, he also loves science.

With over fifteen years of experience in the Wearable Computing research field, Kai works as Professor at the Graduate School of Media Design, Keio University, Yokohama, Japan. Beforehand, he held an Assistant Professorship at Osaka Prefecture University. He received a Summa Cum Laude for his phD thesis from Passau University. His work experience includes research visits/internships at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), MIT Media Lab, Sunlabs Europe and the German Stock Exchange.

In his spare-time, he likes to go to the Chaos Communication Congress and other maker/hacker venues and he also writes smartphone applications.
